Portie is built to respect your privacy. Here is what you need to know.

Data We Collect

None. Portie does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on our servers.

• Port scanning and process information is read locally on your Mac and never leaves your device.
• Your license key is stored in your Mac’s Keychain. It is not sent to us except during activation and deactivation.

License Activation

When you activate a license key, Portie sends the key and an anonymous per-Mac identifier to our own licensing service at api.keybee.app, which checks the key and counts how many Macs it is active on. No account, email address, or payment detail is involved.

Purchases

All purchases are handled by Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record. We never see or store your payment details. Stripe’s handling of your purchase is governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy.

Remote Scanning

When you use the Remote Scan feature, Portie makes network connections from your Mac directly to the host you specify. No data about these scans is sent to us.

Updates

Portie uses Sparkle for automatic updates. Sparkle may check for updates from our servers. No personally identifiable information is included in these requests.
